Why most people survived Britannic's sinking

Warm water, successful boat launching, nearby fishermen, and rapid naval assistance kept Britannic's death toll far below Titanic's.

Notes

Thirty-five lifeboats launched successfully and remained afloat, while the Aegean water was much warmer than the water around Titanic. Help arrived in less than two hours, beginning with local fishermen and followed by Royal Navy vessels running at high speed. Roughly 150 survivors reached Kea, where doctors and nurses used the quayside as an improvised operating area. They made dressings from aprons and pieces of lifebelts. The warmer water, available boats and rapid assistance gave survivors much better conditions than those faced during Titanic's loss.
