Jutland with tighter information and command links

The Jutland branch rests on whether a better-informed Admiralty keeps the battlecruisers, fast battleships, Harwich Force, and Grand Fleet working to one plan.

Notes

Reliable Admiralty reports and regular position updates from the battlecruisers could let Jellicoe drive the Grand Fleet toward contact earlier and with greater numerical weight. Battenberg's intelligence experience might prevent the mistaken Admiralty report that the High Seas Fleet had stayed in port when a particular command code remained there. A different battlecruiser commander might also keep the Queen Elizabeth-class fast battleships close instead of reproducing the historical separation between Beatty's force and the 5th Battle Squadron. Battenberg's staff would be less likely to send the Harwich Force out and then hold it back, adding another formation to the common plan. Two outcomes remain possible: the Germans might avoid battle once they recognized the trap, or they might meet the Grand Fleet earlier in the day under far worse conditions. The result is no guaranteed annihilation, but a stronger chance to exploit British superiority without repeating the historical information and command failures.
