Could the Avro Arrow have been adapted for carrier service?
Short answerIt was technically possible, although the Arrow would at least have needed an undercarriage redesign before carrier operations.
NotesAn Arrow carrier conversion would at least need a redesigned undercarriage. That is an engineering obstacle rather than proof that the idea was impossible. The comparison is the Spitfire: a service determined to make that aircraft work at sea could adapt other unlikely designs as well. Technical possibility still leaves the cost and effort of producing a practical naval aircraft.
