An Anglo-French Super Jaguar for carrier strike

The proposed Super Jaguar turns an existing rough-field attack-aircraft family into a shared British and French carrier strike program.

Notes

Jaguar's rough-field design makes it a candidate for a carrier aircraft in this scenario. The historical Jaguar M provides a direct example of a naval strike variant, while the proposed Super Jaguar offers a possible later replacement for Buccaneer. Specifying carrier operation from the outset could produce an aircraft for British and French carriers that also served land-based squadrons. A hypothetical force of four British and two French carriers would improve the size of the shared market, although the number of French ships remains an open question. Britain operating roughly two-thirds of that carrier fleet would raise a dispute over how much money and work should go into the French side of the programme. Land-based aircraft able to operate from carriers could also reinforce naval squadrons when required.
