Chapter · 57:01-59:16

How an Allied Norway drives the landing back

With German sea power shattered and no northern foothold, Norwegian, British, and French forces can concentrate on ejecting the southern landings.

Notes

Norwegian forces could withdraw inland, mobilize, and preserve more of their ability to fight while Allied troops reinforce them under a politically acceptable command arrangement. Major General Carton de Wiart can coordinate British and French reinforcements alongside General Carl Gustav Fleischer without displacing Norwegian political ownership of the victory. The Royal Navy would seal the southern approaches and attack German shipping in ports and fjords. The scenario remains conditional, but Germany must fight without the secure lodgements that historically let it overwhelm Norway piecemeal.
