What evidence would settle the Saint-name question

An Admiralty record or naming-committee source could change the conclusion; the known note mentions Saint George and Saint David, not a Saint class.

Notes

The conclusion remains deliberately provisional: absence of evidence does not prove that no proposal existed. An Admiralty archive document, an article by someone from the naming committee, or comparable primary evidence could change the assessment. An archivist instead pointed to a note that records another politician's account of Geddes, rather than a formal naval decision. Even there, Geddes is associated only with Saint George and Saint David, with no mention of Saint Patrick, Saint Andrew, or a complete Saint-class scheme. The label remains a claim awaiting stronger archival documentation rather than a confirmed class name.
