French North Africa surrounds Libya

Allied French North Africa places Libya between hostile territories and provides a short supply route to Malta.

Notes

French North Africa places Italian Libya between allied territories even if French ground forces do not immediately attack. Submarines and light forces based in Tunisia could strike Italian convoys, while supplies move along the North African coast and make the short crossing to Malta. Libya and a large Italian army would therefore probably fall quickly, eliminating the historical Africa Corps campaign. That success releases Allied forces and shipping, although it also frees German formations for other fronts and removes Italian convoy losses from the Mediterranean equation.
