Violet Jessop's eyewitness account of Britannic's loss

Nurse Violet Jessop had survived Titanic and Olympic's collision with HMS Hawke before witnessing Britannic's violent final plunge.

Notes

Violet Jessop was serving as a nurse aboard Britannic after surviving Titanic's sinking and being aboard Olympic when that liner collided with HMS Hawke. She returned to sea after those earlier disasters and was still a young nurse when Britannic sank. Her recollection describes deck machinery falling into the sea as the ship plunged and her stern rose into the air. Jessop remembered the final roar carrying through the water as Britannic disappeared.
