Surplus Venators could turn rebel bases into mobile formations

Linking several carrier hulls into a temporary base would let rebel fighters disperse quickly when discovered and reduce dependence on vulnerable fixed installations.

Notes

Rebel fighters possess hyperdrives, but surplus Venators could still serve as mobile support bases. Several ships could connect through a temporary structure and operate as one station, using their large hangars for fighters, workshops, and supplies. When Imperial forces appeared, the Venators could separate and depart rather than sacrifice another fixed base. The connecting structure could be abandoned, destroyed, broken into reusable sections, or stowed in the hangars. Because the class had been built in large numbers, it is plausible that recoverable hulls would remain outside close Imperial supervision. The proposal links carrier design to dispersion, survivability, and logistics rather than treating flight decks only as offensive capacity.
