The recommended book examines the Coast Guard's wartime naval work. A chronology of the war at sea shows how often Coast Guard units appeared across different operations. Convoy service was not an isolated sideline, because Coast Guard personnel and vessels recur throughout the wider Allied struggle at sea. Convoy operations crossed the formal boundaries between naval services.
