Small uncrewed boats can be lifted aboard a parent ship or recovered through a ramp. Its engineering team can then take the equipment apart and repair it. Larger independent vessels are designed to go to sea without being carried in this way. Their maintenance access instead needs to allow a team to transfer by helicopter or boat and work aboard. That difference separates recoverable equipment from an uncrewed ship that must remain serviceable at sea.
