Why game-AI handling sinks a Montana design

An Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts comparison shows how speed, range control, firing position, and salvo weight can outweigh a design's nominal armour.

Notes

In Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts, the AI repeatedly sends a 28-knot Montana recreation into close-range attacks. Against a roughly 27-knot Yamato, that brings Montana within point-blank range of 18-inch guns despite its recreated 10-inch armoured deck. A 30-knot Lion gains firing positions that let it rake Montana. Direct control produces better results, although a custom HMS Dreadnought with sixteen 16-inch guns still wins consistently with comparable armour and four extra shells per salvo. These simulated results make tactical handling, speed differences, and salvo size part of the comparison alongside armour.
