Building an Incomparable test with explicit game limits

The Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts experiment makes its compromises visible before comparing an Incomparable-like ship with a slower American battleship carrying many smaller guns.

Notes

The game cannot reproduce Incomparable's exact 20.1-inch armament, so the modernized stand-in uses 18.9-inch guns against an American-style opponent with twelve 14.9-inch weapons. The opponent is identified as a modernized South Dakota-type design. Ultimate Admiral fires full salvos instead of reproducing the smaller ranging groups available to a multi-gun battery. Its automatic internal arrangement also forces the player to adjust belt, deck, and hull protection to match stability, leaving the simulated Incomparable better armoured than the historical proposal. These disclosed limits make the engagement an illustration of the gunnery argument rather than a literal reconstruction.
