Mark 41 changes the Type 31 weapons fit

A revised 32-cell Mark 41 fit would add quad-packed CAMM and strike capacity, while retention of the dedicated Sea Ceptor positions remains uncertain.

Notes

The original Type 31 plan provided for Mark 41 launchers without installing them, alongside dedicated Sea Ceptor positions. The December 2025 account describes a revised fit of 32 Mark 41 cells. Eight would hold quad-packed CAMM, giving 32 missiles in that part of the battery. Retaining the original dedicated Sea Ceptor positions is considered likely, although it remains unconfirmed here. The other 24 Mark 41 cells would leave room for a future strike missile. The proposed fit consequently raises a separate question about which weapons will be available to fill the new launchers.
