Chapter · 22:22-25:43

Concentrating an Allied battle fleet

The proposed Allied fleet would probably form at Singapore, combining American and Royal Navy capital ships, carriers, cruisers, and escorts into a force Japan would struggle to match.

Notes

The coalition would probably form at Singapore and use the South China Sea transit to practise operating as a combined fleet. Its imagined strength exceeds twenty battleships and includes six or seven carriers, with very large cruiser and destroyer forces. The carrier roster could include Yorktown and Lexington, possibly Hornet, alongside Ark Royal, Glorious, Courageous, and Eagle. Submarines and scouting cruisers can range ahead of the battle fleet while the capital ships remain concentrated. This scale is possible because the scenario keeps Germany and Italy outside the war for the moment.
