Trafalgar by itself is not treated as the Royal Navy's single highest point. The tactical victory mattered, but Britain became stronger through the campaign surrounding it and through what the state and navy did afterward. Consolidation converted a dramatic battle into a durable strategic advantage. Naval victories should therefore be judged by their exploitation and long-term effects as well as the combat itself.

Why Trafalgar's aftermath mattered as much as the battle
Britain's advantage came not from Trafalgar alone but from the campaign and consolidation of maritime power that followed the battle.
