Timberborn production chains illustrate radar-mobilization delays

A game example makes the upstream dependencies and competing priorities of industrial expansion visible.

Notes

Building a major structure in Timberborn requires several upstream production lines before the final materials can be assembled. Treated planks, for example, depend on resin collection, timber growth, and plank production, while the colony still needs food and water. An approaching fictional badtide then forces labour toward closing a gap in flood protection, delaying other projects. That sequence supplies an analogy for American radar manufacture: technical knowledge, adequate component supply, and competing urgent tasks all affect delivery. Restoring the interrupted production lines creates more work after the immediate threat is contained. The game illustrates the coordination problem; its materials and hazards are not a model of the actual radar supply chain.
