Four fast ships support a deploy-train-refit cycle

Retaining Tiger alongside Hood, Renown, and Repulse would create a four-ship fast force. A usual four-hull model allows one ship at sea, one training or in transit, one in light refit, and one in major refit. Two eight-gun and two six-gun 15-inch ships would give the force more fighting weight, although their differing designs would still require support. New boilers and all-oil firing would probably improve Tiger's endurance for distant operations. Hood and Tiger could then undertake the round-the-world Empire cruise together as the two ships with the greatest visible gun power. Tiger might also receive a more Atlantic-shaped bow during reconstruction, although that remains a suggested modification.
