Ship-design papers can appear in folders carrying another ship's name. Personal recollections can also combine projects discussed during the same meeting. One Admiralty meeting considered sixty design portfolios over two days, including roughly ten battleship and battlecruiser portfolios. Of those capital-ship portfolios, only two eventually produced a built design. In such a crowded decision process, a passing reference to a fast ship can fit more than one project. Identifying the intended design requires context beyond the folder label.

Why ship-design folders can mix several projects
Mixed folders, meetings and recollections make a design label such as Super Lion difficult to trace.
