SS Streonhalh was a roughly 4,000-ton merchant ship carrying wheat when she was sunk on 7 December. Captured earlier in Admiral Graf Spee's cruise, she might have been a useful source of flour. The raider carried equipment that could conceivably have been adapted to mill grain, but whether she had a mill or ever improvised one remains uncertain. Using the wheat to feed the ship's company on a long cruise would have depended on a way to turn it into flour. Streonhalh was sailing from South America to Africa on a subsidiary trade route. Even this route carried a substantial merchant ship, giving an indication of the commercial value of the area Graf Spee was approaching.

Sunk on 7 December, Streonhalh carried wheat that might have supplied Admiral Graf Spee with flour if captured earlier in the cruise and if the raider could mill the grain.
