What StanFlex gains by accepting modular compromises

StanFlex trades the very best single-purpose fit for adaptable ships that can change equipment as missions change.

Question

Were you surprised by how much interest StanFlex attracted in the earlier live lecture?

Short answer

No. Its appeal is practical adaptability and broad utility when a navy accepts that each module may not equal the best dedicated installation.

Notes

The Danish modular system attracts attention because it gives a navy a useful all-round hull whose fit can change with the mission. StanFlex can carry Sea Sparrow, and the system has been considered for CAMM. The tradeoff is that a modular installation may not equal the best dedicated system for a particular task. Accepting that compromise buys practical adaptability across changing missions.
