Project 7 destroyers provided useful, reliable ships despite their construction and equipment defects. They took part in Black Sea and Baltic Fleet operations. They also served with the Northern Fleet, escorted convoys and operated in the Pacific. Their repeated use supports a favourable judgment of their practical value alongside the limitations imposed by construction, weapons and training.
