Can advanced technology compensate for having too few warship hulls?
Short answerNo. Six ships may yield only two immediately deployable hulls once refit, training, recovery, maintenance, and damage are allowed for.
NotesA ship can still be in only one place regardless of its technical sophistication. In a six-ship force, two may be in refit and two more in training or recovering from operations. That leaves only two ready for immediate tasking, even before accidental damage or unexpected maintenance reduces availability. Force planners need to begin with the number of simultaneous commitments and account for the non-deployable portions of the cycle.
