Shared living spaces and watertight divisions

Warrior's shared living and fighting spaces served daily needs, while watertight divisions aimed to contain flooding.

Notes

Warrior's decks combined eating, sleeping, fighting, and ammunition storage in the same limited space. Small arms remained close at hand for boarding actions and service ashore. Pistols armed officers and non-commissioned officers, alongside the muskets, rifles, and cutlasses used by the crew. Watertight dividers addressed another demand on the ship's internal arrangement. Keeping floodwater from spreading could improve survival, although designers were still working out the best ways to subdivide a ship.
