At 7,650 tons standard displacement and roughly 10,000 tons full load, Sejong the Great entered service among the largest missile destroyers. Its 128 VLS cells exceed the Type 055's cited 112. In the comparison used here, only the much larger Kirov class carries a heavier missile load. Sejong also has space for two Sea Lynx or Seahawk helicopters. That aviation capacity complements the missile battery and suits a destroyer intended for operations farther from the peninsula.
