Sea Furies strike from British and Australian carriers in Korea

Sea Furies flew ground-attack missions from Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy carriers in Korea and also fought MiG-15 jet fighters.

Notes

Sea Fury squadrons embarked in HMS Theseus, Ocean, and Glory, while transferred aircraft equipped the Royal Australian Navy carrier HMAS Sydney. In Korea they attacked targets with bombs, rockets, and napalm and sometimes sowed mines outside ports. Despite losses to MiG-15s, Sea Fury pilots also claimed jet fighters. A mature piston aircraft could therefore remain operationally valuable during the transition to naval jets. The type also entered Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve service, and transfers to Canada extended its postwar naval use.
