Nine 11-inch guns or six 15-inch guns on the common hull

The armament proposal retains the initial 11-inch installation while allowing later ships to use twin 15-inch turrets.

Notes

The original ships in the proposed series would probably retain nine 11-inch guns. Their development is linked to the earlier Deutschland armament. Later ships are envisaged with six 15-inch guns in twin turrets occupying the corresponding positions. The argument assumes that designing for that arrangement would make rearming the early ships easier. It is a proposed route to standardisation, rather than a detailed demonstration that turret replacement alone would complete the conversion.
