San Buena Ventura and western-style shipbuilding

One of Adams's ships carried shipwrecked Spanish sailors back to Mexico as Ieyasu sought trade across the Pacific.

Notes

Adams built western-style vessels of about eighty and 120 tons. San Buena Ventura supplies a specific example. Its possible order date around 1604 remains uncertain. The vessel was lent to Spanish sailors shipwrecked in Japan so that they could return to Mexico. Ieyasu also hoped to develop commerce and exchanges concerning silver-mining expertise with New Spain. After the crossing, Spain seized the ship in 1610.
