Ramform Hyperion has a single triangular hull designed to tow dense arrays of seismic-survey streamers. Sixteen streamer reels sit abreast in the first row, with eight more in a second row. This arrangement supports high-volume and high-density 3D surveys, as well as repeated surveys over time. The broad stern gives the ship room for many streamers without requiring a conventional long, narrow hull. Six Ramform vessels operated by the same company illustrate the development of progressively larger versions of the form. Its width also suggests a possible naval adaptation for ocean surveillance, where towed sensors could support anti-submarine warfare.
