Would France abandon its PH 75 path for a locally built Invincible design?
Short answerNo. France would pay more to preserve an independent carrier, weapons, and industrial system, so Charles de Gaulle still emerges.
NotesFrance is expected to retain its national carrier path and eventually build Charles de Gaulle. Postwar French policy deliberately built self-reliance across ships, aircraft, weapons, and production capacity. That independence is expensive, but France values control over its own means of defence and accepts the premium. The same priority can make France a difficult collaborative partner because workshare and sovereignty must remain strongly French. A successful Invincible export program therefore does not erase the strategic logic behind an independent French fleet carrier.
