How auxiliary propulsion supported Perry operations

Auxiliary propulsion supplied emergency mobility and helped manoeuvre the single-shaft frigate during ASW work and docking.

Notes

LM2500 gas turbines drove the Perry's single shaft. Auxiliary propulsion units provided a way to get home if needed. They also assisted azimuth manoeuvring during anti-submarine operations and docking. The performance figures given are 30 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 20 knots.
