Pax Magellanic and a long-lived cruiser class

Pax Magellanic's early registry number and role as the first Newport News-built operational ship place Andromeda Ascendant much later in the Glorious Heritage class's history.

Notes

The namesake Glorious Heritage served as the initial test bed, while Pax Magellanic is described as the first cruiser of the class built by Newport News for ordinary operational use. Pax carries the registry number XMC-1913, compared with Andromeda Ascendant's XMC-10284. That large gap suggests that the class remained in production or service across a long span of Commonwealth shipbuilding. The registry numbers give the varied sister ships a useful chronology without proving that every intervening hull belonged to this class.
