Operation Rocket repeated the carrier ferry system used for Splice. Argus assembled crated aircraft while sailing from the Clyde to Gibraltar, where 20 went aboard Furious and 24 aboard Ark Royal. Four others remained at Gibraltar for local defense. Forty-three fighters reached Malta with eight Blenheims as escorts, while one aircraft returned with defects. One Blenheim also reconnoitered Mers-el-Kebir to check Dunkerque. Furious later caught up with Argus at sea, and both carriers reached the Clyde on 14 June to repeat the process.
