Chapter ยท 1:31:40-1:36:32

Using cavalry movements to distract the Spanish army

Visible cavalry repeatedly draws the Spanish formation toward new threats while concealed British troops move elsewhere at New Orleans.

Notes

Most of the British force begins concealed, leaving the artillery as the enemy's initial reference point. Revealing a cavalry unit prompts the Spanish army to move its cavalry and guns toward that threat. Further mounted movements keep the formation turning until its attention is fixed on the cavalry. British infantry can then move elsewhere while a mounted raid targets the horse artillery. The raiders are ordered back toward the infantry, with the hope that enemy cavalry will follow them. These movements exploit the computer commander's repeated attempts to keep its formation facing each newly visible threat.
