A multibarrel rocket launcher above a 16-inch turret was one of the war's most visually striking weapons arrangements. HMS Nelson and HMS Rodney provide the examples. The combination placed an experimental air-defence system on the same structure as the battleships' main battery. Wartime photographs make the Unrotated Projectile installation easy to identify before its development and limitations come into view.
