Question

Were the N3s called hyper-dreadnoughts at the time?

Short answer

No. The term does not fit the period vocabulary used for these designs.

Notes

Hyper-dreadnought is a later descriptive label for the N3s. Hyper was not a term people of the period generally used for these ships. Contemporary naval language therefore did not classify the design this way.
