Mixed construction makes the angled-deck rebuild difficult

Graf Zeppelin's mix of riveting, welding, and later modifications turns an angled-deck conversion into a major structural problem.

Notes

The German carrier's construction history makes an angled-flight-deck conversion difficult. Much of the hull is riveted, other areas are welded, and later changes did not always follow the original method. Soviet engineers would have to assess several structural systems inside one inherited ship. The scenario therefore treats the 1960s work as an extensive reconstruction.
