Middle Eastern aviation fuel moved to American Pacific forces

British-controlled fuel moved from the Middle East through India and Australia, sparing American tankers a longer and more dangerous supply movement.

Notes

British high-octane fuel largely came from the Middle East. Much of it moved through India and Australia to support American forces operating in the Pacific. Supplying fuel from that side of the theatre reduced the distance and danger of bringing every gallon from the United States. It is a concrete example of reciprocal aid working through geography and shipping economy rather than a finished weapon transfer.
