Chapter · 45:00-48:50

Machinery trials establish maintenance baselines

Repeated machinery and auxiliary-system checks prove that the ship works and create the running-hour records that govern future maintenance.

Notes

Engines may be run ashore and again after installation, while navigation, fire-control, hydraulic, electrical, and hotel systems receive repeated checks before and at sea. Engine age is tracked through operating hours rather than the hull's launch date. Accurate mechanical and digital records then drive maintenance intervals and help reveal tampering or discrepancies.
