What Empire's map leaves out of Spanish America

Planning an offensive against Spain leads to a critique of the campaign map's compressed and sometimes misplaced representation of the Americas.

Notes

Potential attacks on Caracas, Bogota, and Panama reveal what the campaign map includes and omits. The game leaves out the Rio de la Plata and much of the Spanish Empire's South American heartland. New Mexico appears without the surrounding regions that explain its place in the imperial system, while Pueblo nations are positioned in Texas. These compressions separate the strategy game's playable geography from the historical geography it simplifies.
