Latvia's two W.33s and a disputed rebuild

Two W.33s transferred from Finland to Latvia were wrecked within months, and the scale of their rebuild left later accounts uncertain whether the originals truly returned to service.

Notes

Latvia received two W.33 derivatives from the Finnish Air Force in December 1926. Both were wrecked the following March and required a rebuild so extensive that they did not return to service until 1928. They left service again in 1933. Accounts disagree over whether the original aircraft were rebuilt or replacement machines were quietly supplied.
