On 26 August 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Navy ordered UFAG to build W.29s at its Budapest factory. Only one was completed before the armistice, and it saw no wartime service. Ten more were under construction when the war ended. These aircraft, together with postwar production, later formed a Hungarian squadron.
