Aircraft capacity should be a central reason to build a larger capital ship. Giving the Artemis and the larger Jupiter the same number of squadrons therefore wastes a force-design opportunity. These spacecraft do not have to fit through the Suez or Panama canals, although construction capacity still limits their size. If the setting can support a larger hull and external launch-and-recovery pods, the Jupiter should gain substantially more hangar space instead of duplicating the Artemis air group.

Why a larger battlestar should carry more aircraft
Giving the Artemis and the larger Jupiter battlestar the same air group wastes an obvious advantage of the bigger ship.
