Coaxial rotorcraft continued to appear in Russian designs after the Helix. The Kamov KA-137 of the 1990s and the VRT-300 introduced in 2017 were uncrewed designs with contra-rotating rotors. The VRT-500 keeps the same layout in a newer helicopter, with its introduction dated here to 2024 while acknowledging claims for 2023. Russian Helicopters took over both Kamov and Mil, and the newer VRT designs discussed here appear to draw heavily on Kamov's design line.
