Britain judged most Danish prizes unsuitable or too costly to retain, but Holstein was repaired for £22,000 and renamed Nassau. She served on convoy work and fought at the Battle of Zealand Point, where she helped destroy Denmark's last ship of the line. She later became a prison ship before being sold in 1814. Her career illustrates how a captured vessel could be absorbed into the victor's fleet and returned to the same theatre under a new flag.
