HMS Wren received shared destruction credit for five U-boats: U-449, U-462, U-504, U-473, and U-608. The repeated appearance of Woodpecker, Kite, Wild Goose, and later Starling reflects the collaborative nature of Walker's hunting group. A Handley Page Halifax patrol aircraft directed the ships toward U-462, while a Liberator helped locate U-608 before Wren and HMS Loch Killin attacked it. Long-range air reconnaissance and shipborne weapons worked as one anti-submarine system. Wren's Atlantic, Biscay, Normandy, and Arctic battle honours place those successes within a much broader operational career.
