Escort Group 137 brought Walker together with HMS Honeysuckle and trawlers for Normandy convoy duty. They escorted convoy E2B27, thirty-two transports carrying United States Army troops from Milford Haven, scheduled to reach the invasion beaches on 8 June 1944. Two possible submarine contacts prompted heavy precautionary depth charging. Walker continued troop-convoy work through June, although neither a precise depth-charge expenditure nor confirmed submarine sinkings is supplied. She returned to Arctic escort duties until February 1945, then guarded coastal convoys around Britain until the German surrender. A postwar survey found her unfit for Far Eastern redeployment, and she entered reserve before sale for scrap in March 1946.
