Working shells might keep HMS Defence clear of Wiesbaden

Destroying Wiesbaden outright could remove the reason for Defence to approach the position where German fire sank her.

Notes

Invincible's historical hit disables Wiesbaden, and Defence then closes on the damaged cruiser. With improved shells, the counterfactual expects Wiesbaden to be destroyed by that hit. Defence would have no crippled cruiser to approach and might avoid the position in which she was engaged and sunk. This branch therefore depends on Wiesbaden being destroyed outright.
