The ferries received gravity davits far stronger than those normally used for ship's boats. Suspending an LCM this way allowed it to join assault boats in the first wave instead of waiting for a deck crane. The arrangement still left the difficult question of loading vehicles into a craft hanging outside the ship. The ships retained their LCM davits, but later landing ships adopted other handling systems because the conversion had solved launch speed rather than the whole vehicle-transfer problem.

Heavy davits solved only half the LCM problem
Princess Beatrix and Queen Emma could launch loaded LCMs quickly, but their davits did not solve how vehicles reached the craft aboard ship.
