Hawker and Sopwith's industrial legacy at Kingston

Kingston University's engineering buildings occupy ground tied to Sopwith and Hawker manufacturing. The Sopwith Building and Hawker Wing keep that industrial connection visible where engineers are still taught. The link is partly physical and partly commemorative, since some elements have moved while others remain on places used by the companies. Interwar aircraft production and modern aerospace and mechanical engineering education share the same Kingston setting.
